The new extended sidebar is great. That's a HUGE improvement in terms of usability.
However, I purchased a license last month, and now Sparrow prompts me to buy a license. If I click "buy license" I'm sent to the App Store and I'm told that "the operation cannot be completed" (or something similar.
Also, Sparrow is no longer available in the App Store. Why's that?
Pretty expensive for what it does. Lack of a fully functioning trial makes it even less appealing.
Chance are, if someone is interested in editing the meta info for photos, they probably already use program that can do this. Aperture, Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, etc. All of these support editing meta data. Heck, I bet even iPhoto or Google Picasa can do basic keywording.
As a frequent MacUpdate visitor, I see the app listed several times per week.
I always appreciate a diligent developer who updates their products regularly, but does a genealogy application really need to be updated three times per week?
Sometimes, it seems more like an effort for free publicity, than anything else.
Try deleting your font caches. I use Linotype Fontexplorer to manage my fonts. It has an option to delete application specific caches, as well as the system caches. Always fixes weird font issues for me, regardless of the application.
Excellent. This is the first piece of software that I've been able to find that will allow me to set EXIF dates for images that I have scanned. And the fact that I can add EXIF dates to a batch of images is great. I'll be making a donation. Well done!
I've tried to install the last 4 or 5 versions, but keep getting failures. Console says:

Hey kids, look at this... it's an antique newsreader from the 1990's!
I can't believe this thing is still around... though I CAN believe it's still a PowerPC-only app.
$25 for a piece of usenet history? No thanks.

Cocoa, tabs, fast, simple interface, SEARCH!
Well done. I'll be donating shortly.

"Attach funky javascript actions to your page without having a clue what you're doing."
Great. Just what the world needs is more tools to enable people who don't know what they're doing.
"Funky javascript"? please spare me.

Using Terminal:
java -Xmx256m -jar /Users/your home folder name/Downloads/glassfish-installer-v2.1-b32-darwin.jar
This changes the amount of memory used by the installer to 256MB.
Also, you'll want to change "your home folder name" to the appropriate name, and the installer name may be different too.
