Saft
S_kalb commented on 03 Apr 2011
I know Glims is the way to go and all but I haven't found a way to mimic the address bar shortcuts Saft does. For example: I type "mu" and it automatically loads "www.macupdate.com", as specified by my preferences. What alternative to Saft does this? I'll keep Saft installed in the wait of finding an alternative to that particular feature.

It's me again. I found it: KeyStone. It is not in the Similar Software above but it is on MacUpdate: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/33820/keystone

KeyStone is supposed to be a keyword search engine, but when you don't specify the query part it does exactly what I was looking for.

Saft
S_kalb commented on 24 Jun 2010
I'm on (not-Snow) Leopard on a MacBook and I updated Safari to v5 and as expected Saft disabled itself. I tried to update via the website, and via the Saft built-in updater, and both cases fail at disk mounting. Something must have happened at the disk creation on the developer's side.

I sent an e-mail to the developer but I didn't get anything back, so I hope the developer or other users in the same situation can read this here.

Adium
s_kalb tipped on 14 Dec 2008
Adium does not support webcam natively yet.

There *is* a workaround you could try out, but it only works through an internet browser. http://adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=4959

If it isn't what you're looking for, try iChat, Skype, aMSN, Yahoo Messenger, etc... there is a fair amount of programs which allow webcam, but unfortunately the Adium webcam isn't ready for now.

Take A Pause!
s_kalb tipped on 31 Aug 2008
Interesting app. Though I think the pauses are too violent - I'd like a discrete warning before a pause begins (Growl notification?).
Is Developer still in the mood ? :)

Monolingual
s_kalb commented on 13 Sep 2007
My Mac isn't able to shut down/reboot since 3 days, and the last major thing I did was using this software.
More unfortunately my Install DVD is in my other location so I will have to wait while this issue keeps angering me everytime I try to shut down !

Suggestion to developer: Add a "Safe Mode" checkbox where ANYTHING too close to the System stays untouched.

Also just a question, is it unsafe to remove English-like (except English) localisations as well ? (UK English, NZ English, Canadian English etc)
