I am trying to use Trash It to empty my trash from manually attempting to clean up/delete Time Machine backups on my external hard drive (which was getting low on space). I downloaded Trash It, moved the "contents to the desktop" from the zip file, launched the program, ran it with only a normal delete and now it has been running all night long saying it is "Unlocking Volume Trash...". The external hard drive is 750 Gig in size....based on the posts, it looks like this should have run and been pretty quick. I have tried to kill Trash It and restart, but that did not appear to work, though it disappeared off my "dock". Any ideas on what could be happening? OS is 10.6.7 and the machine is an iMac.
