I'm new here and have very limited knowledge in networking.
I can usually find my way around but it takes me a little while.

Can someone please explain what all I need to create a VPN connection using a Mac. (ie. server, client, host)

Basically what I'm trying to do is send video files between two Macs, in two different states across the internet. I was told that a VPN would allow this. After searching the web, it appears to me that each computer would need to connect to a Server who is hosting the VPN which then requires both users to create an account with the VPN Server. So far is this correct?

Now - I found this site and it seems that this iVPN software is more like what I am looking for if it work as I suspect.

Can I simply connect my MAC to another MAC using this iVPN software via an internet connection (Verizon MiFi)?
