Don't know if it was there before as I've only just seen this ScanDrop app page for the first time, but it looks like there's a trial 'Lite' version you can download from the developer's web site.
This is a really handy little app for grabbing iOS screenshots.
I help a developer who writes iOS apps - he sends me the app to test and to produce the screenshots for both the iTunes store and his website. I just run the app in the iOS Simulator then set the counter, filename and save location, then it's as easy as navigating to the screen I want in the app being tested and clicking a button. There's a nice variety of output formats too. Saves me a lot of time.
Requirements could also mention that you need Adobe Digital Editions installed and running when you run ePub to PDF converter. Also, to use ePub to PDF converter you need to have the Accessibility API enabled in System Preferences, although the app will tell you that when it's launched for the first time.
Did find the UI a little unintuitive - you get some curious instructions about window size/placement at the start and a 'Convert' button. Clicking that gives you a 'Save' dialogue (as opposed to asking what file you want to convert), however I chose an existing ePub book, clicked OK then... nothing. The file was only 25 pages long and after 30 mins of 'not touching the computer' as instructed(?) the app didn't appear to have done anything and there's no progress indicator. This is on a quad-code Mac Pro running Lion. So, haven't had much success so far but will persevere.
(Note, if you go to the Adobe website to install Digital Editions, the installer defaults to requiring you to have Flash installed to download it. However, if you ignore that and click on the "If you have trouble installing Digital Editions, see the installation TechNote" link, then you can download the dmg directly without needing Flash).
I'm already an OpenDNS user and this seems like a good way to afford yourself a bit of extra protection with little effort.
I'm running Lion 10.7.2 on a MacPro that's using multiple NICs plus I'm using VMWare Fusion 4 and native OSX Cisco VPN to access work networks. Not encountered any problems with DNSCrypt so looking good so far.
Interesting idea, launch it and choose Mac/iPhone/iPad to see a list of apps that have been discounted, which you can then filter by free or paid, as well as narrowing down the category of app.
Clean straightforward interface (while there's no Preferences option to customize it, there is a button to send the app to the menu bar). The main problem I had is that clicking on an app in the list caused a window to pop up for a second saying 'loading app, please wait' but then... nothing. From the description it says it takes you to the app page in iTunes or the Mac App Store. Unfortunately in my case it does neither, even if I load iTunes or MAS ready for it to do its thing, it steadfastly refuses to show me the app so it looks like there's one or two little bugs for them to sort out? (Am running this under Lion 10.7.2).
I'm trying v1.5 now. Not sure what the bug fixes are but when you double-click on an app it still doesn't take me to the app in iTunes/MAS. It flashes up the message that "Loading app, please wait", but then nothing. Shame, I'd really like this feature to work.
Great little app, been using it for a while now. Unfortunately, since the 10.6.3 update it has stopped working for me. Icon just shows 'N/a' and there's a message saying "Couldn't connect to weather.com", even though my internet connection is fine, and I can browse weather.com without any problems.
Have tried using this with iPhoto '09 running on Leopard 10.5.8. Everything is fine up to the point where you click the Export button to start the export, then the following message pops up... The application iPhoto quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the iPhotoBurnToDisc plug-in.
Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling as well as rebooting but no joy. Shame as it looks like a useful app.
