MPlayer OSX Extended

riqay reviewed on 09 Jan 2009
I fully agree with Macnews on this. MPlayer OSX Extended is a fantastic piece of software and has become my default player for watching video on my MacBook. I switched from VLC, which seems to have suffered a bit in recent updates. This is definitely worth a download.

Subs Factory

riqay reviewed on 06 Jan 2009
Downloaded Subs Factory when I found myself trying to sync a movie with an srt file from a different version of the movie. In 3 minutes, Subs Factory had everything working perfectly. The UI isn't perfect -- for instance, pressing the space bar doesn't start and stop the video as it does in so many other video applications, and some features of the interface use modal windows, making the process a little bit less convenient than it could be. Still, this is definitely worth a look if you're futzing around with srt files.

MenuCalendarClock iCal

riqay reviewed on 06 Jan 2008
I agree with what others have said about the latest updates to this application. I used to love MCC because it was unobtrusive and offered a quick look at what was going on with my calendar. However, i don't need the to-do list management features in this utility and I can't stand the fact that the developer's new direction adds a dock icon to what used to be a nice, streamlined menubar interface. And, as others have mentioned, emails to the developer go unanswered.
I've recently switched to the menubar calendar included with iStat menus, and I use the Dashboard widget iCal Events for quickly seeing what's on my schedule. Both of these alternatives are excellent and free.

Sports Fan Widget

riqay reviewed on 03 Jan 2008
Have been using the baseball and football widgets throughout the 2007 seasons. The design of the widgets is excellent, feature set is complete, and updates are frequent. This integration is a fantastic idea and it works great!

Leopard MenuHack
riqay commented on 07 Nov 2007
Love this hack as it works perfectly, makes no under-the-hood changes to the operating system, and leaves all my desktop pictures intact. Kudos to the developer.
