Delivery Status

IMO, this is the best of the delivery tracking swidgets out there. Lots of options for different delivery services. Plus, I love the Growl notifications!

Awesome de-duper! This is the only one I've found that can handle my 5TB of files and not choke.

Pangea Arcade

redcloud reviewed on 22 Nov 2006
These are remakes of three classic games. "Firefall" is a remake of Centipede, "Warheads" is Missile Command, and "Nucleus" is Asteroids.

I'll start with Nucleus, since it is my favorite. The sound and graphics are as polished as you would expect from a modern game. However, Pangea didn't stop there. They updated the gameplay, giving you a mission to complete to advance between levels: you locate and collect electrons to orbit the nucleus of an atom. There are also power-ups you can collect to give you more points, shields, extra ships, or enhanced weapons. The "asteroids" vary between levels to keep things interesting. I'm hooked on this game, trying to discover what each new level holds in store.

Warheads is the Missile Command clone. There are four different quadrants, each with their own set of cities and supply of defensive missiles, as well as their own graphic look. An attack happens in one quadrant at a time, and the enemy missiles seem to come faster and faster as the game progresses. Again, the graphics and sound are top notch. A mouse makes for a much better control than the original Missile Command trackball, but it's still challenging to time your intercept launches just right.

Firefall seems to be the hardest to me, so I've played it the least. Maybe I just need to practice more, but my first few games were over too fast to really enjoy it, which is why I give the collection only 4 stars in playability. The graphics are great, though, and if you ever loved playing Centipede, you might be more enamored of Firefall than I was.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied to have spent my money on this collection. The look and sound of the games is amazing compared to the originals, and the gameplay and flow of the games is generally very good. A little tweaking to the learning curve on Firefall and they might have perfection.

Simple, but fun if you like number games.
