This is a great app, I've been wanting something like it for a long time. One thing I've noticed though, is that the dimming doesn't take effect on iTunes movies played in full-screen mode. I'm sure it only means that the movie itself plays over the 'layer' that Shades makes. I wonder if it's possible to work around this ...

Otherwise, I give this app a big thumbs-up. Slick interface, and a much-needed solution to the iMac's somewhat limited range in brightness settings. Love it.
