Bean
Polyfade commented on 30 Mar 2011
Bean use to be a great text replacement app for TextEdit. Now, it can only export to .txt format and can not open .txt at all. What happened?

IMO, those black tabs stick out like a sore thumb. I'm glad they included other viewing options like a sidebar. The full screen view is nice feature too.

SteerMouse
Polyfade commented on 26 Mar 2011
Please do not discontinue MagicDriver. Pretty please.
(MagicDriver is basically SteerMouse for Apple's Magic Mouse.)

MagicDriver is very important to Magic Mouse users with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Like SteerMouse, it contains a tracking sensitivity feature like no other mouse driver I've used. I've tried 5 other drivers for Magic Mouse and they all lack this important necessity.

At least remove the expiration and let us handicapped use it without warranty.

FYI - I haven't encountered any significant bugs the whole time I've been using MagicDriver. I've been using it for over a year now. In my opinion, it's good enough to sell.

the download seems broken or very unusual. tried safari and firefox. when i download, it says "downloading 5.8mb of ?" that seems a bit strange there is no file size presented. the download speed is very slow at only 25mb/sec.
i also tried downloading directly from developer's site. same scenario.

Can I go back to using SteerMouse for Apple's Magic Mouse instead of using your beta version of MagicDriver?

Firefox

I've been using Firefox 4.0 since beta 4. I now have beta 8 installed. Anyone else have horrible Flash 10.2 experiences? Either the plugin will crash or whenever there's Flash objects on the page, the spinning wheel will appear and Firefox will freeze until the Flash objects have been loaded?

Apple Safari
Polyfade commented on 08 Sep 2010
How about killing that bug introduced to Safari 5 whereby I can no longer remove that add-to-bookmarks icon? You use to be able to customize the address bar without it. Not everyone uses Safari to manage their bookmarks. If you you could assign that button to add-to-delicious, then it wouldn't be entirely useless.

Nevermind, I figured it out. My prefs were corrupt.
In case anyone would like to remove the add-to-bookmarks icon…

When customizing, you have to add the add-to-bookmarks icon to the toolbar. This will detach it from the address bar. Then, you can remove the add-to-bookmarks icon from the toolbar. Still, the add-to-bookmarks icon, address bar and search field should be all separate elements. Just throwin' my 2 cents out there.

CanoScan Toolbox
Polyfade commented on 07 Apr 2010
I didn't mind this ugly, outdated interface when I didn't have to use it. Because CanonUSA refuses to update its driver to work with Photoshop on Leopard and later, I'm stuck with it. I was instructed by Canon to open Photoshop in Rosetta mode. There's still no option to import the scanner. Not to mention, there are many faults of using Rosetta. So which company is to blame: Apple, Adobe or Canon? Regardless, there are no excuses for such an eyesore of a GUI. Shame on you, Canon.

Apple Mac OS X

This update doesn't seem to address these issues: hiding InDesign with command+h; Clipboard still broken - can't copy vector/pdf shapes from InDesign to Illustrator, clipboard recognizes them as "unknown / items".

These problems didn't exist in Tiger. So who's problem is it? Apple? Adobe? Me?

Cyberduck
polyfade commented on 16 May 2008
i've never had complete success with cyberduck and my shared servers at bluehost. new to cyberduck v3, it always fails in the middle of uploading files (in passive mode.) i've trashed cyberduck's application support files and prefs. still, the same problem exists. i've tried on 2 different macs on different networks, both running os 10.5.2.
using transmit, i've had no problems whatsoever. so, what might be the cause?
