You seriously read PDF's in Preview? Preview is a horrible PDF reader... I wouldn't be able to survive a mac if it weren't for Skim...

Aquamacs has become a really mature Emacs for OS X; the balance between Mac usability and Emacs power is near-perfect.

If you've never used any Emacs before, this is the best way to get to know it. If you have used Emacs before, this is the best Mac distribution.
