this is a great solution. looks like you can click an app in the dock once to switch to an app without switching spaces, allowing you to open a new (e.g. Safari) window in the current space. or click the app in the dock twice to switch to the frontmost window in another space.
unfortunately, it doesn't work if you use Quickeys to switch apps. i have tons of quickeys shortcuts set up for switching apps, and invoking those still causes Spaces to jump around willy-nilly.
I just wish Apple would add a checkbox to the Spaces prefpane to turn off auto-switching. Then it would work out of the box for newbies, and still provide the flexibility that power users require.
One thing I wish is that it would automatically add the artwork to all track in a given album, but that's probably a bit of a pain to implement.
Also I think the 'Get from iTunes' button should be bigger or have a little more space around it. For me it's too small a target considering I'll likely be using that every time.
Anyway, a great widget. I might actually use Dashboard now!
yep i figured that would do it. but it would be cool if there was an option to automatically set the artwork for every track where artist name is X and album name is Y. so you could grab the art for a whole album without having to select the album first. you wouldn't have to interact with itunes at all.
btw, i was poking around inside your widget (i'm a web developer) and i noticed that the Get From iTunes image has an href wrapped around it AND an onclick. i think both of these events are getting triggered, causing the display to flicker as the search is run twice. Removing the onclick seemed to fix it for me.
Is anyone else getting really high network latency when running this app?
If I ping apple.com while BoW is running, my response times are usually ~2000ms. If I quit BoW, they drop off to a more acceptable ~90ms. If I run the 'regular' BitTorrent client (4.1.2), my ping times don't go up much if at all.
I love this app, but that kind of latency makes other network activity a real drag. Developer, any ideas?
Just downloaded 1.0.6. Preliminary test shows that the network latency is not happening anymore. I can't be sure if they original problem was with BoW or not, but if it was, this version seems to have fixed it.
Very cool! I've been looking for something exactly like this to record voicemails (using an audio capture application like WireTap).
Unfortunately, I'm not hearing anything when I pick up the line. I think this is a system-wide problem, as I don't hear anything when I dial-up using Internet Connect, even though I've set Sound to On in the Modem pane of Network Preferences.
Detour is awesome, but for some reason it is conflicting with GraphicConverter on my machine (Dual 2.3 G5 running 10.4.1). GraphicConverter bounces and bounces but never finishes launching. Adding GC to Detour's exclude list fixes the problem. YMMV.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

The 3.4.2 client continues to work just fine. I deleted prefs to see if that would get the 4.0.1 client to run, but no luck.
