Wow, that's service ... Amazon announced Reduced Redundancy Storage on Wednesday, and the next day Arq has been updated to support it. Gotta love those dedicated developers :)
Absolutely terrific software. Backs up flawlessly each time, restoring is easy too. Price is a bit high, but given that there aren't any other automatic S3 backup programs (other than JungleDisk) and given that Arq has such a nice, simple, and easy to use interface I'm inclined to overlook it that minor complaint.
Fantastic little app, and the developer is very responsive. Made a feature request and it appeared within a week or so in a new version. Well worth the money ... if it saves you even once you'll be happy you invested in it.
Always been happy with Firefox in the past, but 3.6 seems to be very buggy. I've had dozens of crashes in the last few days, even when not actively using the browser (no windows open).
Shoot, what can I say, I'm impressed. I own both VMWare and Parallels (newest versions of each) and VirtualBox appears to be both faster *and* less memory hungry than both of these products. Haven't used VirtualBox extensively yet, but from what I see so far I'm actually looking forward to using Windows occasionally (at least as much as a person *can* look forward to using Windows).
Expensive -- almost prohibitively so -- but a very nice and solid program (especially if you can get it at a discount). Handles MySQL/Postgres/Oracle (SQLite support is lacking), SSH tunnels, backups, the works.
This is one of those rare applications that actually *is* more useful than it first appears. It has quickly become my "memory manager" ... everything goes in here, from frequently used commands, to code snippets, to registrations and vacation receipts. Couldn't live without it.
Now if I could get a way to sync libraries between computers or access my library from a web interface ... :)
