CleanMyMac and OnyX are not the same thing at all. OnyX has maintenance scripts runner, that do all that I can do with disk utility and are run with maintenance by default anyway. The only thing in common is that both clean cache, and some logs. But CleanMyMac can do a lot more. It allows you to chose what you want, and is user-friendlier, with a very cool interface.

I would say that it is pretty easy to use, do not need to think of different ways to hide my files. The files are not found by spotlight, and what I did is that I hide the files and then closed the app. Works like a charm. Good thing it is on sale!
