Just a question : in a week or so, I'll be purchasing a new MacBook Pro. If I want to migrate my datas from the old MBP to the new MBP without having to reinstall every applications and set every preferences, is « Carbon Copy Cloner » the best bet?
Dmnelson : After putting a lot of thinking, I did use the Migration Assistant for « cloning » the old MBP on the new one, like you recommend. I need to reset some Preferences, reinstall some serial number, but, after a bit of fiddling around, my MBP was up and running like the old one.
Thanks for all the advices.
It was a great little application ... before this update.
Since the installation of the version 1.5, Fontcase crashes everytimes I open it.
Everytimes.
There's no way to get Internet support from their website, there's no forums, no links, no troubleshooting sections, nada.
WANDERER. VirusBarrier X6 now includes NetBarrier, a pretty decent firewall, that can also prevents softwares from calling home, like "Little Snitch" does. And that's the two main reasons why I did purchase VirusBarrier. Virus? I don't really care.
APPLEHC. I'm also reporting crashes (2 up to now) upon manual scanning, bringing the whole computer down. Only a hard boot can resolve the crashes. Very strange behavior. NetBarrier X5 use to be soooooooo reliable... I'm waiting for a much needed update. =(
Since the upgrade to 3.1.2 on my iPod Touch 2nd generation, my Wi-Fi network died.
It sees the network, seems to connect to it, but anything else is a failure.
No MAIL, no APP STORE, no SAFARI surfing, no iDISK, no MOBILEME, no SYNC of any kind, nada. From now on, I'm living a nightmare.
After reading the comments, I'm kind of persuaded that I'm the only one with this problem.
And it's a huge one! I've downloaded the software (multiple times, different versions), and I can't open the .dmg file. This file give me the worst crash I've ever seen on Mac OS X. Can't mount the file. Final. I've tried many thing, and everytimes, result is the same : I've to reboot to regain control of my iMac. Weird, isn't it? I did even tried to rename the file, just to see. As soon as the file is selected : crash city! As bad as the first one trying to open the file! This is supposed to be a great piece of software, but I'm stuck with Micro$oft Office, maybe for the rest of my life.

It's getting worse.
I can connect to any Wi-Fi network, but mine, on my iMac.
Internet coffee works well... LOL Stores also.
I've tried everything, every resets available, on my iPod and on my iMac.
Disabling my firewall, create a new network, bla-bla-bla...
It sees my network, log (or seems to log) properly using the good password, then : nothing.
I'm going crazy.
