Apple iTunes

Mutz reviewed on 20 Jul 2009
Apple is becoming the same monolithic mastadont as microsoft, locking Itunes users in only using expensive apple branded stuff.
I had a sony portable minidisc 8 years ago, it wouldn't let my transfer my songs from a mac. About the same stuff apple's doing now.
I have an Ipod and it's a good walkman but people should have choices.
My next Apple computer will be a Hackintosh cause a company that's changed so much in a negative way doesn't deserve my hard earned money anymore. Viva OSX

Apple uses processors soldered to your motherboard so there's no way you can replace a processor with a better one, graphic cards are way overpriced for mac too. Only fools buy apple 'branded' ram.

Rumpus

Mutz reviewed on 02 Apr 2009
Have Rumpus running for a while now on an old g4 450 mhz. Our FTP-provider was not helping us fast enough so we took matters in our own hands. Great software, the ability of the HTTP server to help non techie people to upload and download a file is very nice and to the point. Installation was easy if you know something about port fowards.
All the extras are great and are explained very well...

Well the tiger bugs on 10.4.11 seem to have gone away.. :) preview is much faster and doesn't lock up anymore...

This version seems to slow everything down... DF goes in spinning beachball mode if you open a large file in photoshop the only thing you can do is wait until everything is loaded into photoshop and then the black bezel disappears... this is on a quad-processor g5...
It's a great program in features but this version is not good in stability on 10.4.11

Adobe Acrobat Pro

Mutz reviewed on 04 Oct 2007
This piece of bloatware is almost unusable on my quad processor, i have pitstop professional 7.2 installed to output certified PDF's for our printers. Adobe has finally made this almost impossible, frequent crashes and unresponsive application is the result. Luckily Enfocus has launched Neo a native PDF viewer for the graphic people under us.. (but it needs some more work)

I have this baby installed for a while now and it works flawlessly without screwing up the layout of your add-free webpages...
and it's free...
kudos to the developers
