I find it ironic that some programmers charge lots of money for terrible apps, and other programmers charge nothing for fantastic apps like Mac The Ripper. This software is so good, it's WORTH money.
I need to donate something soon or I won't be able to sleep at night! ;)
I don't know why people are having so many problems with this app. I followed the installation instructions exactly, and it's worked nicely for me. If it wasn't for Missing Sync my Clie UX40 would be a really expensive paper weight.
I occasionaly have a problem when I cancel a sync. I have to manually force quit the Missing Sync Monitor App (using Activity Monitor in the Mac utilities folder) but other than that, no problems whatsoever.
I do wish Missing Sync would automatically deal with mp4 and Quicktime mov files by renaming them and placing them in the proper directory on my Memory Stick Pro. Installing large movies takes too long using Missing Sync, but that's not it's fault, It's slow-as-molasses USB. One solution might be to create a drag-and-drop app that would rename and copy to the correct directory any movie, mp3 or aac file dropped on its icon. I would LOVE that!
And I wish it came with a conduit that would sync my mail with Clie Mail.
Otherwise, I'm quite happy with my purchase and I'm looking forward to future updates adding even more funcionality.
Need to put this version thru its paces, but the last version gave me nearly PERFECT Pantone matches on my Epson 1280. I mean, just gorgeous... and extremely accurate. (Don't pay any attention to the guy down a few reviews telling you to save as a PDF and print from there. That won't work with spot colors and will only give you less than passable output.)
My only complaint: slow as molasses. But you really have no other choice, I guess.
Downloaded and installed on two separate partitions. Both have been running just fine. (Like the new little app zoom effect.) Butler seems to like the update, as well as Konfabulator. No problems whatsoever.
It looks great. It feels great. It sounds fantastic. And up unti I figured out how to beat the other players every single time, it played great. I jacked up the other player's abilities to 11, and chose the tightest play, but I win every single time. Turns out the computer can't handle large betting. If you bet the max and raise alot, or if you raise big the last round, everyone else will fold... almost EVERY time! I was down $2500, then I began betting big, and I'm now up to $8100. Just in a couple hours of fiddling around!
All in all, it's a great game with TONS of variety, and I hate to say anything bad about it because you can tell the authors probably had fun making it, but until they fix the aforementioned problem, I can't see spending money on it. Once they do, look out cus it will be badass.
I've just used this app for a few hours more than when I wrote the last glowing "review" after I DL'd it. I must say, this is probably the greatest donation ware app I've ever seen.
For those wondering, this app (among many other functions) allows you to create your own menu bar. Yeah, the one at the top of your screen. I now have my Mac volumes up there, Safari book marks drop down, Google search input box, Dictionary.com input box, an iTunes drop down with rating and song info buttons (a nifty song info window pops up with every track like Synergy but much more classy imo), iTunes play/pause rew and ff buttons (all with corresponding hotkeys), I could go on and on. It's f*@%!#$ brilliant!
I'm sending in a donation immediately. Yeah, I know. It's that good. *****
I love iGetter, but ever since Tiger I can't get right-click contextual menus to work with Safari anymore at all. So unfortunately, I can't use it until this is fixed.
Fantastic app. Absolutely stellar. This and Default Folder should just be part of the OS. Peter is a gifted programmer and interface designer.
Still having one problem: Butler hangs when copying text from Microsoft Word to Quark XPress 6. Doesn't matter if I change the clipboard settings, Butler will just get stuck and I'll either have to force quit it, or it quits on its own.
Yeah, I have the 1/2" display bug thing happening to me too. Otherwise, this lil app just ROCKS. It, along with Konfabulator and Butler, are utils that I absolutely cannot do without.
Got a quick reply from the developer, as usual. They instructed me to delete all of the old files first, then install the new 1.2.8 drivers. I did, and I've been using iTunes for the last 2 hours without any panics or problems whatsoever.
So, do a search for m-audio and delete every file you find, including prefs and plists. Restart. Download the 1.2.8 drivers and install. Restart. Then you should be all set.
I was in contact with the developers regarding the Panther incompatibilities. They've been quite responsive and just all-around cool about supporting the Mac. However, I installed this update today, and I STILL get Kernal panics constantly. It seems to happen whenever I use iTunes and change the Mac's volume. That really sucks becuase the hardware rocks and I miss the simulated surround sound and super-improved audio output.
(You don't realize just how crappy the G4 Quicksilver's DA converters are until you try an M-Audio Revolution 7.1.)
Here's hoping they get a fix for the fix out within the week.

But I probably won't purchase it though until it supports the Sony Ericsson P900.
Then I'll be all over it like white on rice.
