Apple X11

Mr.Bricolage had trouble on 29 Dec 2006

I am a fairly new Mac-user and have a question: the text to the update says 'To tell X11 to take advantage of stereo visuals, enter:
$ defaults write com.apple.x11 enable_stereo -bool true'

Where do I enter that command line?
