Stay FAR away from this product. I am a registered user of it, and since the update, my registration code no longer works. Four emails and almost 2 weeks later, and no response. I've called them, but no one answers the phone except for a recording that tells you that no one is available.
Something stinks here. If they even bother sending you a code after you pay, there is no assurance that it will work, and if it doesn't, you'll never hear back from them when you complain. Dispicable people.
This program is outstanding! A great interface, and in almost every instance, a perfect result. The best DVD ripper out there, you would do well to contribute to the developer, despite the fact that the program is free. It's obvious that he works hard on it, and is constantly updating it. Excellence SHOULD be rewarded!
This program has ALWAYS done whatever it was that I needed to do with video files... and better than the software is the developer. I had a problem figuring something out, sent him an email, and he worked out my problem almost immediatley.
This program is a must have if you play wiwth video! Thge biggest problem with it is remembering and understanding everything that it can do!
First of all, this program is amazing! It does everything you could possibly need to do with video files. I can now burn files recorded with my EyeTV, and convert them to full screen which I couldn't do before. Using this along with DVD2oneX, I can now record significantly over the 90 minute limit that EyeTV imposes on my DVD burns.
Most importantly however, is the support from the developer. Not only was he right there when I had a question, but was more than eager to quickly add a feature that I needed that the program didn't initially have. If ever there was a program, or a developer that deserved high praise, this is it. Worth every penny that it costs, and still would be even if he charged twice the price!
It was a great program, but it breaks under Tiger. While their website says they are working to update it, there is no estimate as to a date, and while I've sent them a note asking how long it would take, I've gotten no answer. Be careful NOT to buy it yet if you're running Tiger, as it will not work.
Doesn't work with Tiger.. I have emailed the author over a week ago, and again just now, as I Ihave not recieved any answer yet. Is this program still being supported? Now that I have upgraded to Tiger, I can no longer import icons.. Everytime I try, the program acts as if it is importing them, but them freezes after the "Importing Icons" dialog box says that there are "0" items remaining to import. Is this going to be fixed? Is there a workaround? If there isn't, don't waste your money if you're running Tiger. It was great in Panther, but is useless now.
This is a letter I sent the Dragon Burn folks.. I also called them and got no satisfactory response... Thought you might all like to know:
I emailed you before about this problem... It seems that if I tried to burn a number of files to a DVD using the DATA CD/DVD function, it would ask me to insert a blank disk, and when I did, it then did nothing... I would click on the red button, and it would show that there was a blank disk in the drive, but it wouldn't burn...just sat there. When I sent this problem in, you asked if I was running Panther (I was.. 10.3.1) and you informed me that the program wasn't totally compatible with Panther yet,and that you really didn't know when it would be.
I assumed that was my problem.. Panther. But IT ISN'T!!!
My powerbook hard drive is partitioned, one partition running Panther, one running Jaguar.
I tried to make a disk image under Panther of a DVD data disk. I made it as an NTI image, and the image seemed to be made perfectly, but when I tried to burn fomr the image, I got the same problem. Assuming that it was teh "Panther Issue" again, I copid the entire disk image over to the Jaguar partition, and rebooted under Jaguar. Again, I tried to burn the disk from the image, and the same problem occurred.
Giving you guys the benefit of the doubt, I tried to convince myself that the problem coculd be due to the fact that although I was tryng to burn the image under Jaguar, it was created under Panther, and that that could have been the problem. So I trashed both copies of the disk image, and while booted up under Jaguar (NOT Panther), tried to make a copy of the disk again, now totally while running Jaguar. This time, rather than make a disk image, I tried to just make a copy using the CD/DVD copy feature. Well, it read the entire disk, spit it out, and asked for a blank disk. I put one in.. and NOTHING!!! The screen said that the drive was busy, but that's all. No burning, no more dialog boxes, not a thing.
The disk is fine.. I burned a copy of it with my old version of Toast.
But you guys have a problem... This software DOES NOT want to burn a DVD. It's fine with CD's, but give it a DVD, and it falls on its sword.
Unless you have some kind of fix for this, it's certainly no replacement for the software I had been using prior to this, and its only fair to let everyone out there know about its shortcomings (which in today's DVD environment, is substantial).
So, I eagerly await your response.. I would LOVE for this to work, so I can toss out Toast, but so far, I can't.. Can you give me any guidance on this at all?
