While I love this program and use it steadily, I did not realize that the move from version 2.1 to 3.0 would cost me more money and hold my data captive until I pay. I guess I should have read the fine print before installing, as I don't really need the extra features. My suggestion would be to look before you leap.
It is well known that Norton has not come to the Panther party. Why do we even consider this product anymore? I am old enough to remember when Norton saved by bacon in the old days. Now if you are using FileVault, it comes up with numerous spurious errors and if you follow its instructions you will mess up. Symantec's website is a mass of corporate and PC information, with mac products clearly a distant cousin and hard to find. The new TechTool is very slow but reliable, and DiskWarrior is my hero.
