Absolutely brilliant game from an independent developer! I own the version for Xbox, but this is really some of the most fun I've ever had with a game. I would almost hesitate to even call it that; it's more like an interactive work of art! Easy to pick up and very rewarding to finish.
The scrolling is slow to the point of uselessness. I get constant pops and glitches while previewing loops. There is no way to crop a sample once you've set loop points. There are tons of useless features and a couple good ones that don't work well. They tried to do some "fancy" openGL stuff but it ends up completely defeating the point of the program which is to deal with audio files and loops.
I don't really know what they were thinking when they released this software.... Do yourself a favor and stay away from this.
The developers are easily accessible, and while I agree that it took a while for the Leopard version to be released, I know they were working on it as fast as humanly possible.
The most important thing on your computer is your data, and for free (or for a VERY low fee) you can make sure that you don't lose it. Time Machine is okay, but SuperDuper! is far superior. Don't wait for a disaster to strike, start using SuperDuper! now.
This + Rapidweaver is a really solid product. It's not perfect, but neither are any of the alternatives (maybe your hand-coded CSS/XHTML isn't perfect either!) I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to build a creative site extremely fast. Even if you're just using the created site as a feature rich mockup for clients, the price and ease of use really can't be beat. Kudos to the dev.
I am SO glad to see this application updated for Leopard. There are a lot of really great backup solutions out right now and it can be tricky finding the perfect one for your needs.
Deja Vu has never let me down. I use it regularly to backup to an AFP share and I really like how it doesn't hide anything or do any kind of sub-folder witchcraft with my files. I tried Time Machine, Synk, Superduper, Carbon Copy Cloner, and Crashplan, and I just like the way Deja Vu works better than the rest.
The only reason I would give this a 4 instead of a 5 for features is because I don't think there is a way to make a bootable backup. This isn't too much of a problem for me since a lot of the software I use needs to be re-installed or re-authorized even with a bootable backup anyway. You can make a bootable clone of your drive with Disk Utility anyway.
Haha. Gotta agree with a previous post about almost laughing at how easy this was to use. Best thing for macs? Probably. Better than Tiger server (for mamp)? Probably. Thanks!!
