I really liked the UI of Fontcase 1.5 - the app was a bit unstable, though. Bought 2.0 hoping that the final glitches would be fixed - to my annoyment though they had reworked the interface (the thing that really shined in 1.5) ... Now it's confusing to me, hard to browse, really bad. Very frustrating :(
Great app for browsing fonts and managing them. Beautiful and well thought out interface.
I've had som heckups with auto activation for Indesign CS3, but its' still a five star app for me.
Version 3 has made me look for alternatives. It's now too bloated and intrusive. I'd like to use and forget a utility like this. For example: having to wait for a slow animation everytime I open the app is *so* annoying :(
1password has been a must have for me for a few years, and I have been happy with it. For long I just used it forgot it, just as one should with a utility.
1p has very active developers, which of course is a good thing. The downside is that they choose to update the application very often, causing it to throw alerts on updates all the time.
As for version 3, I'm afraid it will be even more "A Big Application". I personally think it should be a utility. Lean and good. Just work.
Developers: you're the best. But don't overdo it. Keep updating 1Password when necessary - and get to work on your next big thing :)
Well. It seems like the Yahoo at last have put it's mark on one of my favourite applications.
I can no longer get instant search results when another search engine (than Yahoo) is selected. It's Yahoo or nothing. A bummer. I understand the commercial motives, but it makes Inquisitor less useful.
Could be useful, but seem unfinished:
- No easy way to enter the countdown time and shutdown/sleep behaviour (you shouldn't have to open preferences)
- Not properly localized: parts of the dialogues show up in italian ;-)
Great idea - and works well.
+ On-site and off-site backup
+ Back-up between friends
+ Restore over local network instead of over the internet
+ Backs up constantly and unobtrusively
+ Cross-platform
-You can't store backup as plain, unencrypted files on local etwork
- Java-based. Sometimes system-intensive. Has become better though.
- It would be great to be able to backup to or restore from a local hardddrive, and then move it to another computer as a backup destination.
The 1.0rc3 sure look good: Nice Facebook integration, improved RSS reader, more online services supported, and it looks better.
The only complaint I have after one day's use is that Yahoo is the main serach engine. I would like to be able to have live results from Google. (InquisitorX on Safari is still better than Flock's search.)
As of 1.8.1, still no support for accented characters - not even in file-paths. A deal-breaker for many of us. I.e unusable for Scandinavians, French, etc.
[Version 1.8.1]

No big deal, though.
