I'm also getting the registration doesn't stick problem. I mistakenly made the mistake of trashing and reinstalling, and now I can't add my usual feeds!
Fortunately when I got my macbook pro last week I transferred all information via the Migration Assistant so I do have a temporary solution
I emailed the Dev, and am now waiting for a fix. If I can't use Newsfire I will have to use my mac for work ... and I should have bought a PC if that's all I wanted to do!!!!!
It looks like there was a problem with the way it knows if the email addy is registered - and it works fine. Yeah, the dev has bad press, but I have three registered pieces of software from Dave Watanabe and they mostly work without a hitch
