This is a great App. The interface is awsome as you only need one single click to rip or compress a disk. I also like that the developers guarantee that rips are successful. In fact for me RipIt has never failed yet. (Except for scratched disks but I don't blame the software in these cases)
I only wished I could set RipIt to only rip the main feature without any extra content. That would save a lot of disk space and ripping time...
I have been using the free lite version (Tincta) for a while now and I found it to be a very useful editor. It's very fast, has a very clean interface and all basic text editing features. (I always found TextWrangler very confusing)
However I was happy to see that there now is a Pro version, too. I don't necessarily need all the Pro features but especially the split view and regex search make working more convenient for me.
I just landed here by accident and read the comments. I have not used MacKeeper so far but I find it quite remarkable how much effort the developers spend to answer every single complaint here.
And actually I don't see why people complain after buying this, I mean, there is a trial version and if you don't like it why did you buy it?
It just works and does what it says.
It is free but can be upgraded to pro for 24 euros. However normal stop / countdown functions can be used without limitation for free. For me that's enough.
Tincta is finally a useful alternative to Fraise/Smultron. It has about the same feature set. But Tincta is a lot faster, has a line numbering that really works (Smultron always had problems with that) and a more convenient search interface.
And it seems to be in active development - there's even a built-in feedback form.
So maybe I just don't understand why this is useful so I don't give a rating. But in my opinion the user interface is awful. Not only because of java but also because it is so cluttered. There are too many buttons. It's just not easy to use...
And as far as I can see this does not have useful support for css.
After all it's free and I don't want to depreciate the author's work.
This looks very promising and I like the Tron-like design. Anyway it is far from being a replacement for Smultron or TextWrangler.
It's missing things like preferences since I would like to change the colors. Also I miss the possibility to change the encoding and line endings, as well as a status bar or info where I can see the no. of lines, encoding, etc. Printing is missing, too.
But I must say it's a very positive thing that we might get another (hopefully) Mac-like editor.
I like it since it works in the menu bar but I use "Time Out" instead because preference changes only take effect after restart, which is a bit annoying if you want to change the break period.
And when you trigger a pause but don't wait the entire break time the working counter will not be reset so your next break will be earlier than scheduled...
But as this is only a 0.1 version I'm sure this will improve...
