I have multiple hard drives with old time machine backups and when I want to find some obscure file form the past Leap does it every time.
Leap is obviously written by developers that have used Mac computers forever because they know exactly what is missing form the Finder to keep a lot of files organized and easy to browse and find when you can't remember where you put them.
They cut the price of Leap in HALF recently to make it available to everyone on the App Store.
Leap is for Mac lovers of all kinds. No bloat, just what you need.
If you just need to manage documents, try Yep. If you want to be able to dig deep into hard drives for anything that might be there... Leap should be your choice.. I own both and they are worth every penny.
Thank you!!!
For those on MacUpdate who seem confused about what Leap actually does or think that it isn't work $29... If you don't like it what it does, why on earth did you buy it? If you don't like it using it, why are would you care about an upgrade price? Are you going to upgrade an application that you don't like?
Nope, I don't work for them, I am a fan though. It's a great application with lots of feature.
It may not be for users that wish computers today were the same as they were 20 years ago. Some users may be confused at first by all the features available, but if you take a few minutes to learn how it works you'll love it.
It's on sale this week in the App Store for $14.99. It's an amazon deal. I paid $59 for it a year ago and it was worth it. I use it everyday.
DevonThink Pro Office is an unbelievable application. It is not in the same category as Evernote, and some of the other PIM or data collection applications. I continue to use Evernote for bits on info that I want to take on the go. For collecting large amounts of information Devonthink is fantastic. You can't really appreciate its power until you get a decent amount of information into it. But, when you do and you want to recall something... it can't be beat.
I use DevonThink Pro with Sente, and Scrivener to research and write. I take notes in DevonThink using citation tags from Sente. When I want to recall any topic, subject, or author, I can find it in a snap. All of my finished work in Word goes back into DevonThink in case I need to recall anything in the future.
Thanks for the hard work and continued updates.
I would find it hard to believe that anyone who has invested some time with DevonThink and does any type of research wouldn't love it.
This application looks very sketchy. Their website says they are offering ten or so stand alone applications for one price of $40. They are lying at worst, or using very misleading advertising at best. It is just one application that has numerous features. It would never be worth the $500 they claim on their website. That is just dishonest and I hope they do not fool any fresh mac users this way.
The "trial" does not really let you "try out" their application. It's just a way for them to get it on your computer so you will hopefully buy it.
They should not use misleading marketing and they should offer a real trial. It may be a very good application that is well worth the $40 they are selling it for, but I did not get past the above issues so they won't be getting my money.
I've used both Bookends and Sente. I was very happy with Bookends, but switched to Sente because it offered an iPad version. It is so handy to read my pdfs and annotate using my iPad.
Since then, I have been very impressed with the feature set of Sente 6.
Sente also offers a very affordable version for those that have smaller libraries.
The UI of Bookends is quite rough and unpleasant to look at. Sente has a very nice look to it (Endnote looks the worst).
I'm very happy with Sente right now. The developer continues to add fixes and tweaks.
Both Bookends and Sente are very good, but personally I'm going with Sente 6.
Dev, don't listed to the cheapskates on here complaining. The sync service is fast and reliable and a deal at $19.99 a month. You deserve to make some cash of this great app.
I've been playing with Postbox 2 for a couple of days now and I'm very impressed. I purchased version 1 a six weeks ago through Mupromo and was quite disappointed. Version 2 is a huge jump and worth a look. Let's face it, Apple Mail just doesn't cut it for folks that deal with serious amounts of email. $40 is a steal for a solid email client and $20 for students. who can complain. Now, my only issue is it appears that I'm expected to pay the $20 upgrade fee after purchasing Version 1 six weeks ago. I haven't seen any information on this. I really don't appreciate it when an application shows up on MUpromo for 50% off only for a new version to appear a month later. I understand that developers need to make a living but just be up front about it. Let people choose if they want to wait for the latest version or but a soon to be out of date one for half price. boo
I don't know this company that well but when I have requested help in the past they have responded. They sent out an email saying that they are backed up on support replies because there have been so many inquiries since their latest major release. They fully explain why the iPhone app has been delayed. It's Apple's fault. Apple is crazy about approving apps that have anything similar to what they have released.
This new release is a huge improvement and a quality product. Think about what you get for $39. Seriously, it's a small company. Give them a break. Support third party developers by being fair. Sure, complain if it's legitimate but be nice about it. Don't try to trash a whole company that's making useful apps because they fall behind on support inquiries or there are some bugs they still need to work out.
