Since the version 2.6.x I had trouble with TomTom Home: The program always crashed when I tried to update my 920. I found that this was caused by a preference entry: The backup directory was on a network drive (volume). As soon as I changed it to the local harddisk it worked again. Hope this helps other people with the same problem.

Sorry, I mixed it up: I meant the "downloads" directory. TomTom Home looks into this directory, as soon as the update function is launched.

Not only that it depends on Growl and PlaySound, it doesn't even run without them. I accept Growl, but I don't understand why it can't run with the internal sound of OS X?

This might come handy on my next trip. Works like expected. One more remark: Is it possible to run it without an icon in the dock as a pure menu application?
