Addendum: As a curiousity, I just did a test of various notepads with 5 identical notes w/images in each one. iNotePad was the winner taking the least amount of storage on your hard disk: 238kb versus 1.2 MB and even 7.3 MB with another one! Although hard drives are huge these days, I like the idea that the database files can still be lean, especially for laptops. And, it is quick and responsive. There's my decision.
This is a lovely app, lean, unobtrusive, and quick. It does its job extremely well without getting in the way of my other running applications. After all, it is for quick note taking/information gathering.
I'd like to be able to drag PDFs into the window. I can do that with TextEdit documents but not PDF??? One of the running databases I want to create is of PDFs I've gathered, so they can be listed, organized, and selected click click click instead of opening each one from my documents folder.
This app is beautiful! I have bought other notepads in the past, but this one is so well-thought out in its design. I don't want to launch a huge program for little notes and clips as I go about my day, and that is why this one is so great... it is quick to launch, light in weight, and unobtrusive. Although there are other notepads that aren't like Microsoft Word in size, they just feel too big to keep running for note taking, but this one is perfect. I love how easily and accurately it displays a PDF or simple text document dragged into its window, images and all.
A feature I would like to see implemented is "A Group within a Group" feature. RIght now, a Group functions as a folder (database category). I would like to have categories within that group; let's say, for example, a Group called "Software" and then further categorize it into types, like "Graphics", "Utilities", etc. all within the Group named "Software", so that the groups and content can be organized as well as the notes. That way the list won't be so long and it will be very concise as to what notes I am looking for.
Very nice job, Mishimo! And I love your artistic touches, inspiration, etc.
