Tubulator is one of my favorite programs. It is working fine; however, I am getting the notice that I am 15 days away from it shutting down, and it has not been updated recently. Jan has always been great about this in the past, and has designed a great program that I use frequently. I hope he updates it soon.
I really like this application. Where another application failed to download videos frequently, Tubulator has been successful on each download. I too wonder about the temporary status of my download, and sincerely hope that my download will become permanent at some point. I want to continue using this application, because it just plain works.
SnapNDrag is one of all-time favorite applications. I use it several times per week. It is easy to use and extremely reliable. I highly recommend this application to all Mac users. Thanks to the developer for such a great product.
I want to thank IJACK33 for the information/reply. While Weather Dock is working for my, I DO really like Weather Vane. They both have strong points. Weather Vane works great on my iBook which has a smaller screen. The menu bar data does not show up with Weather Dock because the screen is so small, but works great on my G5's theater display. Weather Vane shows up perfectly on both of my Macs. With Weather Vane, you can also set the time frame for refreshing the forecast. The choice will need to be made for me; however, I lean toward Weather Vane. Both are good applications.
OK, I have a question. My operating system is Tiger, 10.4.11, and I'm currently using Firefox 3.6.10 with Tiger. This update is Version 3.6.11. Is this for Tiger? On MacUpdate here, it states Mac OS 10.5; however, it would seem that it can be used with Tiger. I do not want to install it, should it crash. Any advice here?
I solved my problem in my review. Using System Preferences, I added Weather Vane to my Login Items list. When restarting, the icon appears black in the menu bar, then after going online, I simply selected Refresh Forecast, and it works perfectly. This is a great little application!
I just came across Weather Vane by accident and I'm glad i did so. It's great, and has worked fine thus far. Being on a 56k dial-up, I'm not constantly online. At start-up, I did click on the app to activate it when I came online. I added Weather Vane to my Dock to make this easy. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it! Thanks to the developer for creating Weather Vane.
I too was under the assumption that it was freeware. Today, when I attempted to play the game, it said "Canceled" across the screen. I came here to MacUpdate to check on it, where it states "Demo" for the download. Although I like this application very much, I've decided to trash it for now. I may change my mind later. Overall, I would have rated this game high, and for those considering it, I would support it. I'm just not certain why we all had the incorrect assumption as to whether it was freeware or shareware.
I love Fob. I've tried several timers in the past, and I've settled on Fob as my one and only timer. I do have one tiny request for the developer. If you should update Fob, could you include a "Command-Q" in the File menu for quitting? I find keyboard commands so much easier than using the mouse or track when they are available. Other than this small suggestion, I am so pleased, and use Fob daily.
I have used both TinkerTool and TinkerTool Systme for a very long time. I do have a question about TinkerTool System. In Cleanup/Caches, why does it state only Safari 1/2 here? Plus, Safari is grayed-out, while my other choices can be clicked/selected. Only the Safari and Shiira options cannot be selected. Any ideas for me here? FYI, I'm using Safari 4.0.4.
I have always loved this application; however, in recent weeks, less than 10 percent of my downloads complete successfully. They often stop between 12 and 25 percent. I have had no changes in applications or plugins to cause a conflict. I have a PPC, using Mac OS 10.4.11 with 3.5 GB of RAM. I am, however, on a 56k dial-up connection, since I cannot afford high-speed. Still, I have been able to download dozens of MP4 files in the past. Any ideas for me here? I did visit the developer's site. My Flash is version 9, so that's not the problem. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Last night, I did get 2 of 10 MP4's to download.
Hi... no, I have not received a response. I wrote an e-mail on their web site, but have not heard anything. This is what I have done on my Mac:
In the menu bar, I chose quit. I then deleted both the application and the preferences for Weather Vane. I then installed a fresh version of it; however, it still reads "Null Null" in the menu bar. I don't know what is happening with them.
I then downloaded another application called "Weather Dock" and installed it. It's a little tricky to set up the preferences on it, but I worked it out. Thus far, it is working fine on my Mac. I set it up to put a desktop icon in the lower right corner of my screen, giving me the weather icon and current temp. Since I have a large monitor, it also appears in my menu bar. You may want to check it out as a possible replacement for Weather Vane, which I still like. If you have any other questions about setting up Weather Dock, should you decide to go with it, I'd be happy to help.
I still love this application; however, today, for some unknown reason, Weather Vane just vanished from my menu bar. I downloaded a fresh update again, but can't install it because I'm unable to quit the application, and can't do this because it's not in the menu bar. Any ideas for me here?
I've encountered a problem with iTunes 9.1.1 (11) here. When attempting to add files to the library, nothing shows up in Recently Added. It added one file, but not the others. I've tried this on several days to add new files, but nothing appears. Any ideas here? I sincerely hope Apple corrects this issue. This is the very first problem I have ever encountered with iTunes on my two Macs.
I keep encountering the same problem with Opera with each of the 10.+ versions. My bookmarks keep disappearing. I keep importing them time after time, but Opera keeps deleting them. Does anyone have an answer or cure for this? I typically use Safari or Firefox, but Opera handles a couple of business sites that the other browsers will not load properly. It's just frustrating to have my bookmarks continue to vanish.
I too have encountered nothing but problems since the new updates. Safari kept tossing out error messages, and an application I own which utilizes the flash plugin would not work. In order to get this application and Safari to return to normal, I deleted the flash plugins from my drive, an reinstalled Flash 9 on my computer. I keep all of my old dmg files, and installed from it. Thus far, I've had no error messages from Safari, and my application which utilizes flash is working perfectly. My Mac is a PPC Dual G5, with 3.5 DDR SDRAM, and I'm operating Tiger, 10.4.11. Yes, I noticed that this new update is Intel only, but other updates were not, and several were downloaded from the Adobe web site. When I called Adobe Tech Support about the issue, and tried to explain it to them twice on the phone, I was "disconnected" abruptly while explaining it to them. Oh well, it works for me now. Good Luck everyone.
I am trying Opera for a while, and noticed one hitch. When trying to import bookmarks from Safari, it was going deep into Safari preferences, instead of allowing me to import the Html Safari bookmarks I periodically export to a backup folder as a precaution. When I attempt to do this with Opera 10, it won't allow it. Therefore, I'm using Opera 9.6.1 which allowed me to use my bookmark backup, and was very stable for me. Any ideas for me here?
Lee, that's the point. I was using Opera 10, and it did not import properly. It used some outdated bookmark stored deep within a Safari preference folder, and not my current bookmarks. This is why I tried to import the backup bookmarks in my backup folder. When I navigated to those bookmarks, it never imported them. I tried more than half a dozen times, with no success. I even tried a fresh new install of Opera, in case my first download was corrupted.
I'm having trouble as well as Franks. When it gets to the step about inserting a blank CD to record, the installer just stalls. I've tried inserting other blank CD's and DVD's, just in case, but the installer just does nothing. The installation process was perfect, up to this point. Alsoft, any ideas for us here?
