Tested this yesterday. Very nice interface and fast engine. Shows promise. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Only that for serious and demanding work with small databases EagleData http://www.eaglesoft.de/eagle/eagledata.html still has much better features and is freeware. Would like to see EagleData registered in the MacUpdate database, by the way.
Today I needed to do an easy webpage with some links to download .pdf files and decided to try this BlueGriffon.
I have done the page quite easily. Some minutes of use were enough to see how sophisticated and powerful this is. Also a surprisingly modern and effective interface.
Only problem is that you have to explore it by yourself since there is not a single page of documentation and not any kind of help files. I guess I will keep using this for an easy page now and then, for something more demanding I will keep using RapidWeaver at least until the BlueGriffon can give us something to read.
I bought EndNote 3 some ten years ago, and stopped using it at version 5. Some six months ago then offered me a nice price for an upgrade and I accepted it. I am now using EndNote X4 the present version. I had not a single problem with EndNote X4, I am using it daily to manage my 2500 work references mostly for academic work and do automatic references and citations/bibliography with Microsoft Word 2008. Stability has been solid, features are extensive.
Thank you. That is the appropriate place to write: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
The design has gravitas et dignitas, nicely done.
Just that, I don't recommend people to send condolences by e-mail. Take the hard road of offline life and visit the person, phone call or write with ink and paper.
This program is a survivor; bought a license many years ago (May 2005) and has been getting free upgradings since then. Bought a new mini two or three weeks ago and already found an use for this: it is nice to edit the Snow Leopard custom user dictionaries. Just installed the "sort" macro (it comes with the the program -> read page with instructions for macro install) and now I can see and edit them and having them usable by the system. There is always an use for this LightWayText, like when you want to type text for hours in a laptop saving battery, the computer don't even cares it this program is open or not.
Now, the developers are so kind... Japanese cordiality and honor code, believe me.
In recent e-mail, developer says he will give me a $30 refund. This closes the question. Now, lets play with Booxter 2.0.1 The new CD Audio archive is great. Thanks to the developer and to MacUpdate!
Just downloaded Bean to read a .doc file a student sent me. File probably made in Word for Windows, crashed my Word 2004 for Mac many times, first claiming that the file had macros and then freezing Word, claiming it was a corrupt file. Maybe it was, but I still could read it with Bean, not risking getting Word macro virus or so. Bean developers are the best.
Switched to GyazMail some weeks ago. Before I used popMonitor + Entourage; both applications were not intel optimised and I got tired of having to use two applications just to read (and burn) email.
Now I am very happy with GyazMail, it have all the features Musashi was promising (I registered it some 4 years ago) but never achieved.
Developer answered my e-mail. This version 2.0.1 solved my upgrade troubles. This version is a great upgrade from version 1.9.1 I must say. Only remains the question that I payed full price and not an upgrade... on account of this, probably I will ask developer a free one on next billed upgrade. So far so good. At this point I recommend upgrade, but be carefull not to pay the full price.
I received to code to register version 2 but at this point it is useless to me since even registered it can't open or import the file I work with. Its a big file 7,6 Mega, I work with it and so. I have to downgrade and, for now, wait.
This is a warning advise for up-graders. Don't be fast upgrading.
I used my code for upgrade and even so payed the FULL price. Much worst, new version can't open or import my previous version from Booxter 1.9.1
Sent them already an e-mail but I am still waiting for an answer. I will reposr later if some news arrive. For the first time it happens with me, I am very upset.
