Arttext is a nice little utility but now that TypeStyler is back, I'm afraid it is a second class citizen. If you do any kind of headline or logo design, download the free 60 day trial of TypeStyler and judge for yourself. Especially for doing complete designs as opposed to just a headline, TypeStyler blows Arttext away.
I've been a Typestyler user for a long time. Like most everyone, I thought this was dead software. I am so thrilled to have this powerful and friendly tool back in my graphics arsenal.
Try this in any other program: Bend some type into a neat arch, apply a wood shader effect, then choose Break Apart Text from the Object menu. Now export as Photoshop layers and check out the results in Photoshop. Amazing!
Arttext is not bad software but it is a toy compared to Typestyler. This new version is the most powerful type manipulation program I have ever seen. My only complaint is that it took so long but now that I have it, I love it.
