I know that I want to love this application because despite the fact that it crashes a lot, and in turn leaves me often having to rebuild the databases (a time and storage space intensive detour), I keep trying to leverage its capabilities.
Chrome tabs are the worst! Another victim of Google being stacked with mostly code-heads. And Flash is backed in? Me thinks the days of "Super Google" hath ended.
Unbelievable. I had no idea it was possible to take an application from bad to worse. Strike that, I forgot about Adobe.
Someone else mentioned that it feels like a Java app, and on that note, does anyone have any ideas why Papers doesn't respect my universal scroll bar preference settings for jumping to the section I clicked instead of merely advancing slightly?
Listen up Adobe, screaming at the top of your lungs that it's "lightweight" doesn't make it so. It's similar to the whole zebra and it's stripes thing.
As soon as I find a solid replacement for Photoshop I vow to never have Flash Player or anything else from Adobe installed on my Mac ever again.
In my experience Google's search functionalities are the best in the business. I've tried using other search engines but it's never been more than a few days before I'm back using Google. I've yet to find any other search providers that consistently return results to match. But for me, it ends there.
Beyond search I don't want Google anywhere near me or my data.
I want to love this application. I know this because despite fighting with DevonThink's constant instability I continue wrestling with it. Alas I feel my patience is nearing the breaking point. Yes, it's that bad. I wish I could say differently.
Your description of the app is pretty nonsensical and basically bad. You might want to find someone to rewrite it for you so that it doesn't reflect poorly on the quality of your product. Just my two cents.
