for the life of me, i can't figure out how to post a question on your stupid zendesk site during normal business hours. WTF?? so i'm going to post my question here:
when trying to connect to Dropbox, it won't allow me to click the "Allow" button. it does absolutely nothing when i click it. the "Deny" button works though.
Application Specific Information:
objc[9691]: garbage collection is OFF
Assertion failed: (!b->bits || ( b->true_count == countArray ( b ) )), function tr_bitfieldIsValid, file /Users/mitchell/Desktop/Transmission/libtransmission/bitfield.c, line 139.
i've been a longtime netnewswire user and this is the first rss reader for mac that's matched it for the features i need/use. so for that alone it gets 5-stars.
however, i will deduct 1-star for the following minor niggles (FR=Feature Request):
- BUG: moving to next article too quickly will cause articles to not get marked as read.
- FR: ability to use custom css
- FR: keyboard shortcut to go to next UNREAD item
- FR: mark the article in the list as read AFTER it is deselected (when you go to the next article), so if i "Clear Read Items", it doesn't remove the currently selected article.
- FR: upon startup immediately go to first unread item or last group viewed
- FR: growl notification with # of new items when feed is automatically refreshed
- FR: keep selected article near top of pane (with only 1 or 2 read articles above it) so it lines up with the tile on the right preview pane (so eyes don't have to jump from middle left to top right). also make it so that the list rolls up/down and the selection stays in place (similar to date rollers in iOS).
- FR: ability to refresh non-G.Reader feeds and sync with G.Reader at the same time. (for the record, every mac rss reader i've seen does one or the other, but not both.)
- FR: option to hide broken images
- FR: even larger font size in article list pane
so while there's still some room for improvement, for me reeder is one of the best rss readers that integrates with Google Reader. (for comparison, i would rate netnewswire 4-stars as well.)
BUG REPORT: if your mac crashes and you have to do a hard reboot (by holding down power button), surplusmeter loses track of its stats because surplusmeter_data.plist gets corrupted. it needs better data recovery in case of system crashes.
this app installs a background daemon that utilizes quite a bit of cpu power especially if you're running a bittorrent client. on my mbp, the daemon process was using 10% cpu usage according to activity monitor (compared to something like 0.1% for SurplusMeterAgent) while i was using Transmission.
perhaps the developer should consider using a daemon-less approach so that the app only monitors network usage when the app is open. personally, i don't really need it to monitor the network at all times; just when the app is open sufficient.
would be nice if you could quickly add food items inline and integrate a simple search as a drop down there.
for example, i wish i could press Command+N to create a new line entry under the currently selected item or category, start typing and it autocompletes to show all matching foods, press Return to complete or Tab to enter quantity, etc. if nothing matches what I typed in, pressing Return would automatically create it as a new food item and i can enter details.
as it is right now, you have to jump around to many different areas of the window and click a lot, which feels a bit disconnected. process flow could be much improved.
- audio/video out of sync for videos that play just fine in rev13
- image distortation/pixelation for a few frames after you seek forward/back (mainly in wmv videos)
- still can't skip to previous video in playlist using keyboard shortcut option+command+left (i don't think this has ever worked)
also, still haven't fixed the bug where the MPE GUI becomes unresponsive and won't accept any clicks or keyboard input. then you have to force-quit the app and restart.
is it normal for the 64-bit test in 2.2.0 to be 4-5% lower than what's reported in 2.1.13? i've run both versions several times back to back and the 2.2.0 score is consistently lower.
"Date Modified" column shows wrong date for SMB connected folder. It appears correctly in Finder and on the Windows side, so Path Finder is doing something goofy.

1) the app won't quit properly sometimes. get stuck saying "quitting" over the icon. force quit is then necessary to kill it.
2) seems to use an usual amount of CPU even when its doing nothing (no downloading, no seeding).
