This is a very poor quality app. It has a lame java interface. It's very unintuitive. The app itself is slow and buddy. It just got 180 404 errors trying to download totally random URLs from my site, url's that are not linked to anywhere on my site. Clearly there are some big bugs in this app's code. I'll give it two stars because after fighting with it, it did download all, or at least most of my website. But this app is about what you'd expect for a windows app. I would not recommend it, even if it was free. For $25, forget it!
Download link sends me to some crappy rapidshare page where I have to wait 15 minutes before I can download this app. Hows about real download links only on MacUpdate? Sounds like a good plan.
I kept this program around for years, for extracting rar's. But I just found a very annoying bug. It doesn't handle password-protected rar's. In fact, it deletes them. If you try to open a password-protected rar, it tries to expand it. Then it gives you and error. And that's it, theres no trace of the file after that. So if you spend 2 hours downloading the rar, well now you have to go spend another two hours. This program is now officially on my shiit list.
Great idea for a plugin. Doesn't work though. It doesn't search by the street address. It searches ONLY by the city name. Not even city and state. So it returns close to 100 results per search, for results from states all over the country. Good idea for a plugin but its totally useless as it stands right now.
The new feature-set is great. Handbrake's ability to only work on DVD-like, non HD sources was really making it more and more obsolete. They've fixed that in a very big way. This new version has great features that work great when they work.
BUT
The app is very crashy. Certain .mkv files seem to make handbrake cash for no apparently reason. I hope they fix this bug soon.
Version 3.0 broke support for VNC. This sucks for me as both my servers run VNC server instead of Apple Remote Desktop server because ARD is a bit less stable. But Since upgrading on my intel macs, I can't connect to my servers at all. The notes on version 3.1 say that VNC support is fixed, or at least imply that it is. But trying to connect to a VNC machine fails every single time in ARD 3.1. I don't know what they are waiting for here. Apple is usually so good about things but every once in a while they really leave you hanging and this is one of those times.
