I'm delighted to see this long time favorite return (presently in version 4.9.10), updated for OSX. Mr. Bender has always been available, open and responsive to suggestions and bug concerns. I particularly appreciate its scriptability, including the assortment of scripts already available from other programmers. Tex-Edit successfully competes with current full-featured word processors, and the best part is its price !
It remains a useful productive tool for the lighter word processing I more frequently do: minimalist, tools I am familiar with quickly accessible, predictably good printing results, among others... Gets the small job done, works for me.
The "Requirements" state it'll run under OS 10.5 and above. However, in my Intel miniMac running 10.5.8 the notice appears: "You cannot use this version of the application Abe with this version of Mac OS X."
This version has finally corrected some bugs. However, there is nothing well made that cannot be enhanced or improved: it bothers me that I often need to reshuffle a game. What if there's an option in the game's preferences for 'automatic reshuffle' so reshuffling doesn't affect the 'time' score so much… just an idea..
With this version of Flash my MacPro crashes: "auto script crash" meaning Safari (under Snow Leopard 10.4.6) freezes and I have to Force Quit it... I uninstalled it i.e. removed the plug-ins from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ ... and Presto, crashes gone..
With my recent upgrade to 10.6.2 I have need to know which applications use only 32-bit kernel extensions and which run only 64-bit kexts, to help me decide whether to boot the native 64-bit Kernel or the old 32-bit one. Anyone posted a list?
(1) Captivating game, can keep you at it for hours if you play well. (2) There is no help ... says “coming soon” (3) The instructions should inform that when you select a ball to be moved to make sure you have a clear path to the square you wish to place it on -- meaning no other balls block the path there ... or you will not be allowed to place it there. (4) overall simple yet challenging fun.
Expected version 5.0.3, but 5.0.2 arrived. The access to the menu choices was not intuitive, but I figured it out. The description of the effects of the numerous choices is not obvious by their titles, so easily getting to an appropriate on-screen help file is in order .. even the spartan "Press H for Help" in the start-up splash screen is easily ignored ..
[Version 5.0.3]
