Drop Drawers X

kobeguy reviewed on 14 Sep 2006
I'm a long time user and big fan of drop drawers, but sadly no update for intel. Performance really needs some tweaking. I would especially like to see improved updating/searching when there are changes in drawer contents. The auto search function never works - you have to update locations manually, which is a major pain. I can no longer recommend this application - save your money until the developer comes through with an update.

Snapz Pro X

kobeguy reviewed on 12 Aug 2006
Once upon a time, it was essential kit, but lack of development, a king's ransom in pricing, and no intel version have the masses crying out for a decent alternative. The current version is unreliable at best, and not especially easy to work with. The only redeeming feature is the video/motion capture function, which either doesn't work or doesn't work well. Not worth your money until they come up with a decent update, or are hopefully replaced by a competitor who cares about what they are doing.

Personal Backup X6
kobeguy commented on 02 Jul 2006
I bought Backup X3 thinking it would be a solid and easy to use program - after all, how else could they justify the high price? In short, it never really worked well, with occassional crashes and a clumsy interface. In particular, the clone feature never worked. When X4 was released, I could see they cleaned up some of the mess and did a redesign. Great! and then I saw the "upgrade" price. Those of us who financed the work on the new version were rewarded with the prospect of paying big bucks for what we should have gotten the first time. I really feel ripped off. Save your cash for developers who give good value and treat their customers fairly. Deja Vu and Carbon Copy Cloner are great alternatives, work better, and cost a fraction of this program.

Microsoft Office 2008

kobeguy reviewed on 07 May 2006
This update has done nothing except WASTE my time... I recommend not updating since this seems to have caused numerous performance problems. I use Word everyday for work, and can't understand why MS would release such garbage, in spite of it's billions of dollars and thousands of hard working professional programmers. With resources like that, they should be releasing the finest stuff on the market. Clearly they don't care, since it is nearly impossible to make bug reports.
Since the update:
1) I cannot delete a block of text after highlighting. It only will work by deleting characters individually.
2) Charts can't be copied & pasted, only text.
3) Noticable slow downs - text frequently takes several seconds to appear after typing, creating a sticky effect. Yuck.
Thankfully, there are alternatives that are actually fun to use and work. I'm recommending our company dump this junk.
