Great concept, fantastic eye candy. However, don't use it. It's not at all stable, it's never been. Just had a re-try after months and the app crashed on startup, repeatedly. Also, it's heavily bloated and uses too much RAM. I'm sorry to say that this app is far from being mature.
Hint: Clip Menu does most of the features offered here, with less eye candy, but very handy, using very few resources and for free.
Can't recommend it anymore. The support is completely ignorant. Which is particularly bad, because it's much needed. The latest version turned out to be heavily buggy.
First of all: Very good app!
But: When I registered a year or so ago, the support was also very responsive. This seems to have wanded. Since X-mas I've been trying to contact the developer by mail for a regsitration issue, but there's no reaction at all. I need a quick reply, though. This is why I'm trying this channel: Please, developer, respond!
One-trick pony - which does its trick very well. Stable app with very handy and unobtrusive GUI. Also, very responsive support. Not needed if you only wish to make ZIPs in general, but as soon as you exchange your ZIP files with Windows users it's a great help. I recommend it.
First of all, thanks to the developer for making this Panther compatible. Anyway, the support is first rate, very responsive and friendly.
Also, for me OmniGrowl works flawlessly, though I'm not using all the features it offers. I find it very useful to have iTunes notifications at last without the GrowlTunes menu item.
One of the best mail apps for mac. I switched to it from Apple's mail app, because the management of a single mailbox with different addresses works much better (and does not produce annoying errors as Mail.app did). Also it's feature-bursting and very reliable, still Apple-like in style.
The only two drawbacks: The search function could be easier to use (it works fine, though); IMAP's lacking (which is not a prob for me and is promised to be added in the future).
Two bonuses of this anyway impressive software: A very long testing period (40 days) and a very responsive and friendly support.
O.k., here's a software-related comment: I think this software is urgently needed and I wonder why no other Growl fan came up earlier with this. In that sense: Thanks, developer! One drawback for me: 10.4. I still use Panther and OmniGrowl doesn't work here. That wouldn't cost it a star, but is a shame for me (and I can't test how well it works).
I agree with user "Sidetracked" that this piece of software is not exactly a bargain - but highly useful: It works steadily, requires few system resources, is very handy and even looks good.
I haven't paid to get the nag-free version yet, because the nag window is fortunately inobtrusive. So for many of you out there it should ok to use it like freeware.
I guess I will buy a licence soon, not only for a good app, but also to add the hotkey activation feature.
Very useful indeed! I loved Aplle's note app, but after a while I completely replaced it by Sidenote, since it prevents the notetaking clutter I had before. Also, the activation by touching the screen edge makes work with Sidenote very smooth and fits well into my workflow.
Last, but not least: Very, I mean: very responsive support - thank you!
Have some problems with this app. As a try-out, I used it to let Preview disappear. This didn't work at first try. A few days later finally, Preview disappeared from the dock without me doing anything.
I found out I didn't like it that way, so I tried to reverse the transaction. Again, it didn't work. And still doesn't. It's been a week now - no result. Preview is ticked in the Dockless list and it should be in the dock, but it doesn't appear there.
Please help!
