i couldn't see what's in these images either back in the 90's when it was popular.
the guide marks in Sirds may help you see what's in these images. choose "Sirds Help" from the Help menu and read the instructions how to view these images with the guide marks to train your eyes. once you get used to it, you can easily see what's in these images without the guide marks.
for electric guitars, you need to connect it to your Mac via the audio input port on Mac, or use a guitar amp and the internal microphone on Mac.
it is not practical to try to tune an electric guitar with the internal microphone as an electric guitar does not generate loud enough sound that Mac can actually hear.
please use it with caution. RealZoom is not a viewer and it currently does not have a preview feature to view a small portion of the original image. it's a tool to generate a zoomed image. if you load a large image to generate an even larger zoomed image, Mac OS itself (not the app) could choke.
NOTE: RealZoom generates a very large image when the magnification is high (e.g. 6x, 9x, 12x, etc.), and the system may not be able to handle a very large image properly. Please make sure to select a portion of (or scale down) your large image and save a smaller image with your image editing application such as Photoshop, then load the small image with RealZoom.
Here are some technical details. It's a pink/brown noise generator with a "wave-like" random amplitude moduration. Unlike the recorded real sound of ocean waves on CD's, the simulated sound of ocean waves from Ocean Waves does NOT repeat for hours. Some people may be annoyed by any noticeable repeated sound, at least I do. So I'm trying to make non-repeating simulated sound using a pseudo random function. It would be really nice if it sounds much much more realistic, like Pixer does with their animations, and Ocean Waves is probably around (or not even) "wire-frame" level so far. I'll study the sound more and try to make it better in the future. Thanks. -author
