I thought Delicious Library was a brand new idea, but apparently it isnt. There have been cataloging apps like this since 1998, yes, including the ability to use bar code scanners, readerware.com for example.
Though the other apps arnt as pretty, they do their job. Heck, you could even get the same job done in Filemaker or Appleworks.
I downloaded the demo, but found looking at icons of my stuff isnt that exciting. That is what it boils down to, you pay $40 to look at fancy icons of your stuff on a digital shelf.
If you lend out stuff to friends, jot it down on paper of if you're library, use a database.
I'd say keep your $40 to get a couple DVDs instead.
But if looking at pretty icons is worth $40 to you, by all means spend it.
