I just purchased the $25 version of this program and have been very pleased. I initially had problems installing the program but customer service answered my email promptly - on a Sunday evening! Then I found a slight bug with the temporary (30 day) license that they send with your purchase. The program asks for the license number every time it starts up but evidently it isn't necessary to enter it after the first time. Again customer service answered my email very promptly. The permanent license is supposed to arrive within this 30 day period.
I have now ripped 3 homemade videos off CDs. The program worked perfectly and transparently. No fussing was necessary. It is true that it takes a very long time to rip the video - and then even longer to load it into iMovie to edit. Maybe if you have a top of the line Mac it would be faster. I have a 1.8 GHz iMac and it takes 3 or so hours to rip a 2 hour movie. Let it work overnight.
