Zipeg is simple and works great. I use it on my MacBook. I personally use it to open up .Rar and .Zip files. I believe it is opensource and always follows through on updates. I'm a musician I like to exchange my cd's with other bands, and when they send over an album, I use Zipeg to extract it. It automatically opens up Zipeg when you open your downloaded file.
