Also, there is a problem caused by NTFS-3G ONLY. Basically, NTFS-3G uses it's own driver and that prevents the startup disk preference panel from seeing the NTFS drives/partitions. Paragon's NTFS modifies the original Apple NTFS driver directly, which allows Startup Disk to work properly.
True, they do the same thing, but they are two different ways of doing it. Paragon's software does not rely on having to install MacFuse as well as the NTFS-3g driver in to your system. Since everything in the Paragon version is tied together, you can avoid issues like the current compatibility bug between MacFuse and NTFS-3g. That alone makes it worth the price in my own opinion. Of course, you could always use pacifist to extra the files and install them manually if you want to be real cheap.
It'd be even more simple if you'd have tried Transmission 0.91. But since you were posting about 0.90, it is obvious that you didn't bother to even notice a new version solving a lot of your problems had been released before you posted.
Nice troubleshooting Mircoslob, but that doesn't help me.
In fact, doing that revealed another problem with the newer versions. Unless I entered my email address to register the software, Acquisition would only update 15% of the core before stopping and claiming everything was ready.
I have a feeling that not too many people will be happy with being 'forced' to register in order for the software to be properly installed.
"Here's a suggestion - zap the PRAM. (command+option+P+R keys held down at boot until the mac chimes 3 times. resetting NVRAM via OF is also another alternative-Mike)
I had the same thing happen the other night when I was updating the system software while setting up an iMac G5 - the preference pane disappeared and the setup assistant told me that there was no bluetooth installed. Apple told me to zap the PRAM and it did the trick."
