Eon still works fine here under 10.7.2. Low ratings are totally undeserved. Would hope that development isn't abandoned.
Eon displays an iCal integrated calendar (day view, month view, any combination, which ever you prefer) right on your desktop. This might be impractical for people with lots of items on the desktop, but that is generally a bad idea anyhow. It is very nice to have a clean overview of all scheduled events for the day, the week, the month in one glance right after boot. Ideal for me.
I would like to love this, but I have run out of reasons why I should. The idea is nice, but the implementation is so incredibly buggy that the Finder needs to be relaunched just about every session.
The visor (TotalFinder 1.3, Mac OS X 10.7.2) will start jumping in and out of sight, thus bringing the Finder continuously to the back and the front and rendering the machine useless until the Finder is force relaunched, i.e. TotalFinder is force quit. This starts to happen for no apparent reason and is more frequent than I can tolerate.
Equally frequent the ordering of items in the Finder turns berserk. The 'kind' labels in column view turn into dead folders and the alphabetic order of items is entirely gone. I can't find a single item anymore, because Finder windows are no longer sortable on kind, name, size, whatever. Again, until the Finder is relaunched, i.e. TotalFinder is force quit.
Actually, that is not why I bought a license for this software, to have to force quit it on just about a daily basis.
If the developer could make this software play nicely with the OS, it definitely would be a great addition to the Finder, but as it is I would advise anyone to avoid it as the plague.
@Mor Since you use an entirely different OS, you really can't compare your experience with mine. Take a look at the users forum on the developers page and learn that many have considerable problems with TotalFinder. Still, everyone's is free to try it for themselves.
Great app. Easy to use, clear interface, not bloated with features and whistles and bells you hardly (if) ever have any use for. The perfect tool for an average audio user as I am.
Thanks for these scripts.
Funny thing is, when I run a site through these scripts, they come up as error free. However, when the appropriate logo is pasted on the site and clicked, the validation page reports errors found.
What gives?
