VueScan

I have been using this software for years. The developer has been quick and tireless in addressing problems brought to him. Thanks Ed!! With the latest update I have been experiencing verrry lonng start times - in excess of 30 or 35 seconds. Not too happy with that.

Pixelmator

After upgrading to OS X 1.6.5 Pixelmator has become unusable. It creates bars of color when dragging and dropping layers.

After doing some basic troubleshooting, as directed by the developer, everything seems to be back to normal. I do love this software and have reccomended it to several people.

The latest release would not log in for me. Reverted to 2.7.0.33 and everything works fine in Snow Leopard 10.6.4.

I was hoping 1.6.1 would be usable version-I had to revert to 1.5.1 when 1.6.0 would freeze and crash after less than 5 minutes of use. I was wrong. 1.6.1 seems just as buggy as 1.6.0. Once again reverting to 1.5.1, where I have seen very few problems and nothing I can't live with.

VueScan

Jmkmmrr reviewed on 10 May 2010
I first purchased VueScan when Canon stopped developing drivers for my scanner. It made my old scanner usable on a new MacOS. After getting a new scanner and encountering some issues I contacted Ed(the developer). He was very patient with me and worked diligently to solve my problem. This release works perfectly for me! I recommend this software to anyone that use a scanner. Period.

Drive Genius

Upgraded to DG3 and found it to be stable and efficient. Defragged 2 drives flawlessly. I have encountered no problems. I must add that the customer support at Prosoft is the best in the business. If you own DG2, like I did, then the upgrade is a no-brainer.

Apple Mac OS X

JmKmmrr reviewed on 29 Aug 2009
Upgrade install over 10.5.8 took about 30 minutes. That's the good news. Mail wouldn't send: fixed that. Gutenprint drivers for my printer are horrible! Time Machine first backup took almost 2 hours and Time machine is rendered on a white background, making it virtually unusable!! Safari is having trouble with some secure sites that worked perfectly in 10.5.8. Many thanks to the developers that were so quick to supply updates; Alsoft, Prosoft, Agile, Stunt... The whole system does seem more responsive. Star-up and Shut-down times seem little changed. Machine still has "wake from sleep" issue that is Firewire related. Pretty painful process.

I agree with the previous post. I used DG2 to defrag my original aluminum iMac. It worked perfectly. My Machine was much more responsive. Totally satisfied. The customer service a Prosoft is the best.

Drive Genius
JmKmmrr commented on 19 Dec 2008
Recently purchased Drive Genius2 and found, for some reason, the boot DVD would not boot my aluminum iMac. I contacted Drive Genius support via the Prosoft website, and heard back in very short order. Through a series of emails they were able to sovle my problem and provide me with a working version of the software I had purchased. The entire issue was handled with the utmost care. Great company. Great support. Great product.
