I guess I just see no reason why you wouldn't just use TextEdit already installed on your computer? It's as powerful or as lightweight as you want and free. Also has a much nicer interface. Plus for being as extremely simple as this is, there are still bugs (click new twice with a window already open). Kind of pointless unless it brings at least 1 feature that TextEdit doesn't have.
