If you're getting the "this_ipod2" error message, try
Ctrl + click on the ipod in the iTunes left hand column.
Click: Open iPod (before you do this, make sure you have set the ipod to manual music setting) and the ipod screen in iTunes should open in a new window. ITunes will ask you something like: are you sure you wanna open, just say yes.
Then Ollie's SHOULD recognize your iPod.
This at least worked for me. I tried to get Ollie's to recognize my ipod for the longest time, and all I got was the "this_ipod2" bull crap, but when I opened the iPod in a new window within iTunes, Ollies seemed to catch it. And my music is being extracted as I type.
