This finally feels much more usable now that categories are cached. This release definitely makes it more pleasant to use and a little faster. The only thing missing now is an interactive mode.
XMind is a pretty darn good mind mapping app in terms of features. I got the last version from a MU Promo. The UI may not be the greatest and it is Java based, but it allows you to do a lot with great flexibility.
I'm amazed how it went from $299 retail to only $50 a year for the Pro version. The basic version is free now. Good job! That was one of my major complaints about it. It's certainly worth it for people interested in organizing their ideas with mind maps.
Yahoo just released a beta for Firefox (PC/Mac) and Internet Explorer. I'm liking the Firefox version so far! You can get them from the developer's site:
I'm always cautious of these types of apps. While I like the idea of customizing my OS since Apple allows very little in that area, I wonder if things will break when there's an OS update. Anyone have experience with this one?
I've tried using the last couple versions and after the initial installation they work fine, but afterwards they crash constantly when the application tries to login my account. I've tried to completely remove and reinstall Netflix Freak, but I experience the same behavior.
This is great software that constantly keeps getting better. Unfortunately, in this version when I try to open the Photo Browser on my iMac G5 under 10.5.2, it completely freezes the system. This does not happen on my MacBook Pro.
I've enjoyed using iWOW for a little while now. It improves the sound a bit on iTS movies and TV shows that tend to have very soft sound on my iMac's speakers. Unfortunately, I did have some trouble with this update. After installing it and trying to launch iTunes it would hang and not completely load. It looks like a simple reboot fixed the issue for me after trying to reinstall iWOW and repair permissions.
