This really is an excellent application. Anyone with just a small knowledge of FileMaker can see how well thought-out this is and how much effort it contains.
This is really quite funny since you exactly know where to go for an ice cream.
But its also true that there is no use out of ths town, so why not releasing the sourcecode here and some instructions to build its own location widgets?
I got in contact with the developer regarding supporting a SCSI-Quatographic of a customer of mine and send him the neccessary logfiles he asked for. He said he can make it work quite easily. With the next release, the scanner could be detected but wouldn't scan. Inbetween the customer bought a professional-license since the dev said he (easily) can make it work. When I asked the dev why Vuescan doesn't work although he's promised to do so, he simply said he can't handle it. And he even wouldn't refund the license.
Now I have to give my customer the money back for a soft he can't use.
If I pay for software it's not only for the soft itself but for the support too. In this case, I'm feeling very p****d.
The scanner is supported by OS X - with the extremely expensive SilverFast-software. To get this scanner to work in OS X my customer had to pay about 420 bucks. No need to say that a new scanner is cheaper. But why spend money on such a thing if you get a promise to make it work in a cheaper way?
The onliest reason why the license was bought was to support the dev and 'cos he promised to make it work. Now I payed 80 Euros for the very valuable hint "Don't trust anyone" …
This is quite a nice idea and much better done than many of the other comparable apps. BUT...
First, it is written in RealBasic and it looks really ugly. I doubt the dev has anytime anything heard of Apples GUI-guidelines. Besides all the personal impressions, it has such drawbacks like a logfile INSIDE the app itself.
Very nice idea but needs still quite a lot of work!

Would be good to have little fields to put values in in addition to the sliders…
