MsgFiler
howard-socal commented on 01 Mar 2011
I'm not going to give it a rating now, because if I did it would be very low. I've been a user of MsgFiler for quite a few years. V3.00 is SLLOOWWWWWW, so slow that I consider it to be somewhat useless. And yes I put in the "engine." I'm using it mostly on POP accounts so it's not an IMAP issue.

I'm hoping the old plug in will keep working in Lion, or the developer makes some serious upgrades to V3.

iCal Sync Now Up-To-Date

Broken in Snow Leopard. I emailed the developer asking if an update was pending, and got no reply.

Like others, I find this version absolutely appalling. The potential feature set is great. The implementation is awful; I've lost confidence in the developers to get it right. There's just too much that's so buggy that the integrity of the coding is seriously in doubt.

Takes many minutes to load, if it loads, which it doesn't about half the time. Everything is insanely slow. It's the buggiest program I've used in a long time. They call this a "release" product. It's not even early beta. And considering how late it is already compared to the promises, and how bad it is, I have NO confidence in it ever working right.

I'm hoping for BusyCal to add a few critical features, then that will be the #1 calendar product for the Mac.
