I used v1.4.1 of CllickToFlash on my PPC G5 running OS 10.5.7 and Safari 3.2.3 for a few days, problem free.
When I downloaded v1.4.2, and twice tried to install it, it failed both time giving me the alert: Install Failed. The installer could not install some files in "/tmp".
I have poked around with various VNC applications for several years in an effort to help relatives and friends with their Mac problems.
I have tried Chicken of the VNC, Share My Desktop, LogMeIn, JollyFast, VNC Dimension, and Vine.
NONE of them were as fast (in fact most were PAINFULLY slow) and as simple to use as TeamViewer. Don't waste you time trying any of these above-mentioned apps; download TeamViewer and your golden.
My pal, using the Windows Garmin POI Loader has a choice, in the first window, of Garmin Device - MapSource (Advanced) - Custom Folder (Advanced) and, in the next window of Remove POI's or Add POI's.
This Mac version has offers no such choices. Once it finds your device it offers only one choice: add POI's.
Come on Garmin! We paid as much for our GPS units as did the non-Mac using purchasers. How hard would it be to offer comparable software for Mac users???
FWIW, I just downloaded and installed the latest Apple Security Update, "Security Update 2007-006 (PowerPC)" (1.0), on my G4 iBook running OS 10.4.9, and Safari crashed upon launch repeatedly.
Suspecting it was a Safari add on, I began removing them. SarariPlus was first and after removing it, Safari launched and ran normally.
I have been a happy user of Applejack for a very long time. I wonder, however, if it is compatible with Intel Macs running 10.4.9.
After installing 10.4.9 on my G5 iMac, I ran Applejack and all was normal.
After installing 10.4.9 on my wife's Intel Mac, it froze, twice, and after a hard restart I was greeted by a window which detailed the problem and asked if I would like to report it to Apple.
I did so, but first took a screen shot of that window and it may be viewed here:
Is anyone else running Leopard having a problem with this neat little widget? I downloaded and ran it in Tiger and it displayed normally. In Leopard, however, it displays as if it my monitor were broken. Other widgets display just fine, but iStat Pro is pixelated and difficult, but not impossible, to read. Bob

Also, version 1.4.2 will not work with Snow Leopard.
Hope they come out with a version that does.

Anyone else seeing this?

QuickShareIt
It worked once or twice on the MacBook, then began crashing regularly; it never once succeeded in uploading a file from the iMac.
Hope they fix this; the two times it worked it was great.

iStat Pro
I wrote the developer and he directed me here for a fix. IStat Pro now works just fine after I deleted the two files he suggested and restarted.
The fix may be found at:

So much for recommendations from the Cool OSX Apps site.

Logitech Control Center
12/27/07 12:04:36 com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.dyld) Throttling respawn: Will start in 60 seconds.
This warning always was associated with this, in Console:
12/27/07 12:03:45 [0x0-0x100100].com.apple.systempreferences[2599] 2007-12-27 00:03:45.803 Device Manager[2611:10b] LCC Scroll Enhancer loaded
LCC of course being Logitech Control Center.
So, I uninstalled LCC, installed the shareware SpeedMouse, and now I have no more of those "Throttling respawn" reports in Console.
It's annoying that I had to pay an extra $20 for SpeedMouse to get my Logitech mouse to work properly.

Hope the developer updates it.
