Scribblet

Apparently, the developer will let you try scribblet for free; if you want to use it, you pay. It would be nice if MacUpdate was accurate about pricing.

Taco HTML Edit
ghokie commented on 13 Mar 2009
Taco's a good little program. I used v1.x (free) for basic code management. However, $24.95 for this program is a little steep. I've switched to Smultron, which has basically the same functionality and is free/donationware.

If you're looking for a capable editor, give Smultron a try.

This looks like exactly what I've been needing... however, when downloaded from the developer's site and launched, there is a reference that the Beta version has expired.

Would love to try a working copy.

DEPOTset

Nice idea, and pretty to look at, but I couldn't enter any stocks. Tried "aapl" for my favorite company, and "T" for AT&T, but the widget couldn't locate either issue. Also couldn't determine where to define the exchange as the developer claims.

Hope these issues get resolved.

Nice, simple, easy to use. Does what it says it will do - and the price is right! Thanks for sharing this.

MagiCal

ghokie reviewed on 28 Mar 2007
I used to use MenuCalendarClock, but was annoyed by the constant reminders, even though I always disable the extra features.

All I want is a small little calendar that lives in my menubar and is there when I need it, and not when I don't. MagiCal does just that.

Scribblet

Looks like a helpful little program but could not get it to launch (showed up in the menu bar, but that was all).

Tried both v1.2 and v1.2.1 today. OS 10.4.11.
