For me this program worked without problems since the first lanch. I tried both the PPC and Intel versions on an Intel Mac with OS X 10.4, connecting to a SFTP server. I found it very easy to configure and operate; It offers basic functions but it's all I need now.
Honestly I'm used with CyberDuck, but it has an annoying bug with OS X 10.4.
The only concern with this program is that here it is marked as freeware, while on the websithe they talk about a trial version withouth mentioning the expiration time and the features that will be disabled.
Simply it does what it says. The compression is very effective. I use PNGCrusher to compress the PNGs I include in the help documentation of my software. I visited the developer's site and read about how it is built; this is a very simple application, but it works well and is very useful, so thank you for it!
Unfortunately the server of my hosting service is down since a few days. Their service was very good until now, so I will wait some other day before to move to a new hosting service. Until the problem will be resolved or the site moved the download will not be available, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm a software developer, for some time I looked around for a good alarm clock for my Mac, but after some tries I was almost decided to develop an app by my own. Fortunately I took a last look before to start the work, and found this great app! It is exactly like I would have tried to develop it! I like it because:
- It is very simple, it does not integrate tons of features, but just a small set of really useful ones;
- You can set it and forget it, unlike other programs that require you to check every night the settings or the system volume in order to be sure to wake up the next day;
- It is dependable, I used it for some months now, and it never failed;
- The 'easy wake' feature is great, I really never had an alarm clock so gentle before;
- Has a beautiful and comfortable user friendly interface.
Finally, this application is free, but I think it really deserves a donation fot its high quality.
If I can ask a feature to the developer it would be the ability to set, for each alarm, whether the snooze function should put the computer again into sleep mode.
Please send me any comment/suggestion about the new timing features in version 1.2. There are many ways to implement them, the one I used is just one of the simplest while enough flexible. I really would like to hear your thoughts about the effectiveness of the new features and how to improve them.
Thanks to everyone who sent me his comments and suggestions! You have given me some really cool ideas on how to improve iReadFast. I'm now working on the beta 2 to introduce some of them and to correct the most evident bugs.
It works fast, is useful because makes navigation easier if you have many chm files.
The only problem I saw is the appearance of random characters af the end of the page preview. If I 'quick view' document_1 then quick view document_2 then quick view again document_1 these random characters change at the bottom of document_1.
For what I need it is good as is, of course I believe next feature could be page navigation.
Thanks for your software, good work with the improvements.
